<![CDATA[The low level of discipline and learning achievement of student in the subject of Social Studies for grade IV with the material “Building a Civilized Society” is the background for this study. The purpose of this study is to improve students discipline and learning achievement through the application of the PBL model assisted by audio-visual media. The study was conducted in two cycles using the Kemiis and MC. Taggart models, with subjects being students of grade IVB of SD Negeri 1 Sumbang. Data collection was carried out through test and non-tes techniques using observation sheet instruments, tests, questionnaires and documentation. The results of the study showed an increased i the average score of student discipline from 2,48 (not good) in cycle I to 3,26 (very good) in cycle II. Student learning achievement increased from cycle I 61,29 (sufficient), and cycle II 80,65% (very good). The results of this study indicate that the application of the PBL model assisted by audio-visual media can improve students discipline and learning achievement in the subject of Social Studies.]]>
