These issues include mangrove ecosystem degradation, lack of environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure, and mismatch between the number of tourist visits and natural capacity. To address these issues, a good development and arrangement concept is needed that considers architectural, construction, and ecological aspects. Ecotourism architecture should utilize sustainable local materials and designs that minimize environmental impact. In terms of construction, structures should ensure stability without disturbing the mangrove ecosystem. Ecologically, development must ensure mangrove regeneration and ecosystem balance. On the other hand, the issue of Malay locality in Batam can be integrated as genius loci to provide identity and added value to ecotourism. Adoption of Malay cultural elements in ecotourism design and programs can provide an authentic experience to visitors and support local socio-cultural sustainability.]]>
