<![CDATA[This study uses qualitative design to collect, filter and analyze data. The subject of this research is Mice cartoon in Kompas Newspapers in 2020. The selection of cartoons uses a purposive sampling technique. Purposive sampling is sampling that is related to the purpose of the study. From a number of cartoons has been observed,cartoons published on March 8, 2020 were chosen as samples because they show the pandemic situation of the global community as well as in Indonesia. The object of this research is focused on cartoon visual analysis, the meaning of denotation and connotation meaning. The object of this research is based on the analysis the meaning of denotation and connotation meaning using the semiology theory of Roland Barthes. The result of the study, Mice cartoons are not only convey the the reality of Indonesian people’s lives in facing Covid-19, but Mice also brought smiles in providing the preventive solutions, moreover Mice cartoons reminded the whole community to always take care of themselves and obey the government instruction in putting on your mask while traveling or “self quarantine “ avoid the crowd.]]>
