Sound financial management will provide opportunities for the government to finance vital sectors such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and human resource development through education and health. However, while sound financial management can support state governance, challenges and obstacles such as abuse of authority, corruption, collusion, and nepotism can impact the optimization of sound state financial management. Therefore, this article aims to further understand the definition of public financial misuse, its forms, its impacts, and effective strategies for preventing and addressing cases of public financial misuse. The research method used in this article is qualitative, with a literature approach obtained from books, articles, and previous research relevant to the topic. The results obtained through this study include an understanding of the forms, impacts, and strategies for addressing public financial problems.
