Abstract

The enactment of Law No. 18 of 2003 concerning Advocates has created new opportunities and challenges for graduates of the Ahwalusy Syakhsiyah Study Program that were previously unimaginable, thereby underscoring the need for a responsive curriculum adaptation. This study aims to analyze how the study program responds to consumer demands for a curriculum aligned with the job market and to identify key aspects of producing quality graduates. Using a qualitative approach with an evaluative case study model, data were collected through structured interviews with purposively selected informants, including judges, lawyers, lecturers, and students, supported by documentary studies. The findings reveal that the 2001 curriculum is inadequate to respond to opportunities in the advocate profession, necessitating a revision toward a competency-based curriculum covering main, supporting, and specific competencies. In conclusion, essential aspects to prepare include standard student input, a competency-based curriculum, professional management, learning facilities, lecturer resources, and adequate funding. The recommendation is a systematic curriculum redesign and strengthened collaboration with stakeholders to ensure graduate competitiveness. Pemberlakuan Undang-Undang Nomor 18 Tahun 2003 tentang Advokat telah menciptakan peluang baru sekaligus tantangan bagi lulusan Program Studi Ahwalusy Syakhsiyah yang sebelumnya tidak terbayangkan, sehingga mendesak perlunya respons kurikulum yang adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana program studi tersebut menghadapi tuntutan konsumen terhadap kurikulum yang responsif terhadap pasar kerja serta mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek kunci dalam mencetak lulusan berkualitas. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif model studi kasus evaluatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terstruktur dengan informan yang dipilih secara purposive dari kalangan hakim, pengacara, dosen, dan mahasiswa, serta didukung studi dokumenter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum tahun 2001 belum memadai untuk merespons peluang profesi advokat, sehingga perlu penyempurnaan menuju kurikulum berbasis kompetensi yang mencakup kompetensi utama, pendukung, dan khusus. Kesimpulannya, aspek-aspek penting yang harus dipersiapkan meliputi input mahasiswa yang standar, kurikulum berbasis kompetensi, manajemen profesional, fasilitas belajar, sumber daya dosen, dan dana yang memadai. Rekomendasinya adalah perlunya desain ulang kurikulum secara sistematis serta penguatan kerja sama dengan pemangku kepentingan untuk menjamin daya saing lulusan.
