Nutritional problems have a major impact on individual growth, development, intelligence, and productivity. This emphasises how crucial nutrition is in human life. Indonesia still faces the dual challenge of malnutrition and overnutrition. This study aims to assess nutritional status by calculating Body Mass Index (BMI) and measuring waist circumference. The research design used was a descriptive cross-sectional study involving 213 respondents from grades 2 and 3 at SMPN 3 Kota Kediri. The results of the BMI analysis showed that 110 students (52%) were undernourished, 60 students (28%) had normal nutrition, 40 students (19%) were overnourished, and 3 students (1%) were obese. Waist circumference measurements also found 3 students (1%) with obesity, consisting of 1 male (0.46%) and 2 females (0.93%). In conclusion, malnutrition remains a dominant problem, but cases of overnutrition and obesity still require attention.
