<![CDATA[This study aims to explore the impact of the distribution of income zakat by the Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM) PLN UID North Sumatra on the welfare of the Smart Light Movement scholarship recipients. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, exploring the experiences of scholarship recipients through interviews and observations. The results showed that the scholarship program funded by income zakat has had a significant impact in improving the economic, social, and psychological well-being of the recipients. Economically, recipients receive financial support to continue their education without being burdened by tuition fees, which improves their motivation and academic performance. Socially, this assistance strengthens self-confidence and independence. The program also has a long-term impact, namely increased access to education that can reduce poverty and create productive human resources. The implication of this research is that zakat, if managed professionally, can serve as an effective tool of economic and social empowerment, and make a real contribution to the welfare of the people.]]>
