The development of the soul is a crucial aspect in shaping human personality from an Islamic perspective. The Qur'an, as the holy book of Islam, contains various principles and guidelines for forming a balanced, purified, and morally upright soul. This study aims to examine the concept of soul development based on the Qur'an, with reference to the thematic interpretation found in the book Fiqhu Bina al-Insan fil Qur’an by Kifah Abu Hanud. This study employs a qualitative approach through a library research method to examine Qur'anic verses related to soul development, as well as to analyze the interpretations and conceptual frameworks presented by the author. The findings indicate that the concept of soul development in the Qur’an includes the purification of the soul (tazkiyah al-nafs), the formation of noble character, the strengthening of faith, and the struggle against base desires through mujahadah. The interpretation offered by Kifah Abu Hanud presents an integrative and contextually relevant framework in exploring Qur’anic values that are applicable to contemporary human needs. Thus, this study is expected to contribute academically by deepening the understanding of human development from a holistic Qur’anic perspective.
