Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui:1) pengaruh kemampuan membaca terhadap Prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas V se-Gugus IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Kabupaten Sleman; 2) pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas V se-Gugus IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Kabupaten Sleman; 3) pengaruh kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar IPS siswa kelas V se-Gugus IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Kabupaten Sleman.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V se-Gugus IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Kabupaten Sleman yang berjumlah 320 siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian korelasional yang mengkaji hubungan antara beberapa variabel pada suatu penelitian dengan menggunakan sampel acak representatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan membaca, angket, dan dokumen nilai. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) ada pengaruh kemampuan membaca, motivasi belajar secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar IPS. Kontribusi kemampuan membaca, motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar IPS siswa sebesar 25%. Data ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,250; 2) ada pengaruh kemampuan membaca, secara parsial terhadap prestasi belajar IPS siswa. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi kemampuan membaca, maka semakin tinggi prestasi belajar IPS siswa; 3) ada pengaruh motivasi belajar secara parsial terhadap prestasi belajar IPS siswa. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi motivasi belajar, maka semakin tinggi prestasi belajar IPS siswa.   Kata kunci : kemampuan membaca, motivasi terhadap prestasi belajar IPS, siswa kelas V     This study aims to determine: 1) the influence of reading skills on IPS learning achievement of fifth grade students throughout the cluster IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Sleman; 2) the effect of learning motivation on IPS learning achievement fifth grade students throughout the cluster IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Sleman; and 3) the effect of reading skills and motivation toward IPS learning achievement of fifth grade students throughout the District Cluster IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Sleman.Population of this study are students of class V hroughout the cluster IV Purwobinangun Kalasan Sleman, totaling 320 students. This research included in correlational studies that examine the relationship between several variables in a study using a representative random sample. Data collection technique used literacy tests, questionnaires, and documents of value. Data are analyzed using validity and reliability of the instrument. The results show that: 1) there is an influence of reading skills and motivation on IPS learning achievement. The contribution of reading skills and motivation toward students learning achievement in IPS by 25%. These data indicated by the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.250; 2) there is an influence of reading skills partially on students learning achievement of IPS. This means that the higher ofstudents reading ability, the higher of students' learning achievement in IPS; and 3) there is an influence of motivation partially on students learning achievement in IPS.
