The influence of national media with its wide reach and massive resources is a major challenge for local radio stations to remain functional in the digital era. This study investigates the transformation strategies adopted by local radio in the face of these challenges. Through the use of digital technology, local content customization, and platform variation, local radio stations are able to expand their audience reach and increase engagement. In addition, cooperation with local communities supports their financial sustainability and competitiveness. The findings indicate that technology-driven innovation is a key factor for local radio to survive and grow in competition with national media.
