The focus of this research is to reveal the story structure and values of character education in the wishes of the Besemah Tribe community in Lahat Regency. Andai-andai or ande-ande is a name for folklore for the Besemah tribe people which is usually used as a bedtime tale. The research method used is qualitative research with direct observation data collection techniques and direct interviews with informants. The collected data were analyzed on the basis of Levi Strauss's theory of structuralism. The results of the study found that each story analyzed had a forward plot that showed a similarity in story patterns. Every story always features a strong and responsible female character who represents the mother or grandmother figure as the central character in the story, while the father character is rarely presented in the story. The values of character education found in the Besemah community are, (1) honesty, (2) sincerity, (3) sharing, (4) obedience, (5) caring, (6) courage, (7) independence.
