IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM CAMBRIDGE DI SD LAB UNIVERSITEAS NEGERI MALANG: STUDI KASUS PENERAPAN KURIKULUM INTERNASIONAL DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Cambridge Curriculum integrated with the National Curriculum (2013 Curriculum) at the Malang State University Laboratory Elementary School (SD Lab UM). The focus of the study is the Shared Binoculars Integration model, which combines thematic learning from the national curriculum with parallel Cambridge lessons in the core subjects of English, Science, and Mathematics. The research used a case study method with a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum at SD Lab UM improved students' English language competence, critical thinking skills, and social-emotional abilities through inquiry-based learning methods in a bilingual context. Teacher training and the development of open-ended tools based on the Cambridge framework supported the successful implementation. This integration not only meets national standards but also responds to the needs of educational globalization while maintaining Indonesian character and cultural values. The implications of the research show that the integration of national and international curricula can strengthen the quality of basic education and open up opportunities for the development of students' global competencies.
