This study examines the role of the school principal’s leadership in improving teachers’ discipline in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMA Negeri 2 Merangin. The background of this research arises from the presence of teachers who still lack discipline, such as arriving late, failing to prepare learning materials properly, and occasionally being absent from class according to the schedule. These conditions disrupt the learning process and affect students' competency achievement. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the principal implements both instructional and transformational leadership through routine supervision, coordination meetings, and performance monitoring. These efforts have contributed to improvements in punctuality, teaching attendance, lesson planning, and classroom management. Supporting factors include a conducive school environment and effective communication, while inhibiting factors involve limited facilities and differences in teacher commitment. Overall, the principal’s leadership plays a significant role in strengthening teacher discipline and improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning.
