Character education is an essential part of developing students' personalities in elementary schools. The values of responsibility and discipline are the main foundations for developing positive attitudes and behaviors in students. This study aims to describe the implementation of extracurricular marching band activities at SDN 131/II SKB Batin III Bungo Jambi as a means of instilling the character of responsibility anddiscipline. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques throughobservation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that marching band activities fosterstudents' sense of responsibility towards their duties, improve discipline in practice and attendance, and foster cooperation and cohesiveness among members. Supporting factors for these activities include the active role of instructors, school support, and student enthusiasm. Inhibiting factors include limited facilitiesand practice time. Overall, the extracurricular marching band activity has proven effective as a vehicle for developing the character of responsibility and discipline in elementary schools.
