This study aims to determine the effect of verbal bullying on the self-esteem of seventh-grade students at MTsS YP Al-Azhar Medan. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of all 91 seventh-grade students, who were also used as the total sample. The instruments used were a verbal bullying scale based on Cloroso’s (2003) theory and a self-esteem scale based on Coopersmith’s (1967) theory. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS. The results showed a negative and significant influence of verbal bullying on students’ self-esteem, with a significance value of 0.000 (0.05) and a regression coefficient of -0.390. This indicates that the higher the level of verbal bullying experienced by students, the lower their self-esteem tends to be. Therefore, it can be concluded that verbal bullying contributes to a decrease in students’ self-esteem within the school environment
