Status Identitas Remaja China: Persepsi Terhadap Identitas Karier dan Peran Gender Antar-Jenis Kelamin

Abstract

The main purpose of this research was to test the sex differences in career and gender role identity. The study also examined the relationship between sexes in both identities. There were 740 students participating in this study, who came from three different Chiened private schools in Negeri Sembilan and Melaka. To determine the identity statuses, the career, and gender role domain in Ego Identity Process Questionnaire (Chinese Version) were used in this study. Results show that there was significant relationship between sex, career and gender role identity. The findings contributed toward the important information for the school counselor for career counseling and socioemotional development among the adolescence. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan jenis kelamin dalam mengidentifikasi karier dan peran gender. Studi in ijuga meneliti hubungan antar-jenis kelamin dalam kedua identitas tersebut. Sample (N=740) adalah para siswa yang berasal dari tiga sekolah swasta China yang berbeda di Negeri Sembilan dan Melaka. Untuk menentukan satus identitas, dipakai ranah karier dan peran gender dalam Ego Identity Process Questionnaire (versi China). Hasil-hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara jenis kelamin, karier, dan identitas peran gender. Temuan ini menunjukkan betapa pentingnya informasi bagi pada konselor sekolah untuk konseling karier dan pengembangan sosioemosional di antara para remaja.
