ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian formalin secara intraperitoneal terhadap ginjal tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Hewan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 24 ekor tikus putih jantan. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola searah dengan 4 kelompok perlakuan. Masing-masing kelompok perlakuan terdiri atas enam ekor tikus. Kelompok kontrol tikus hanya diberi pakan dan air minum tanpa perlakuan apapun, kelompok 1 tikus diinjeksi formalin dengan dosis 1 mg/kg bb, kelompok 2 diinjeksi formalin dengan dosis 2,5 mg/kg bb, kelompok 3 diinjeksi formalin dengan dosis 5 mg/kg bb. Masing-masing kelompok diberi perlakuan selama 14 hari berturut-turut secara intraperitoneal. Selama penelitian tikus diberi pakan dan air minum secara adlibitum. Tikus dietanasi pada hari ke 15, kemudian organ ginjal dikoleksi untuk pembuatan preparat histopatologi. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan rata-rata (± SD) jumlah sel-sel tubulus ginjal pada tikus yang mengalami degenerasi parenkim K0 (0,00 ± 0,00); K1 (2,10 ± 0,17); K2 (2,56± 0,32); dan K3 (3,00 ±0,72); degenerasi hidropis K0 (0,00 ± 0,00); K1 (1,80 ± 0,69); K2 ( (7,23 ± 0,60); dan K3 (7,50 ± 0,26); dan nekrosis K0 (0,06 ± 0,11); K1 (3,70 ± 0,43); K2 (7,23 ± 0,60); dan K3 (7,50 ± 0,26). Pemberian formalin berpengaruh nyata terhadap kerusakan sel-sel tubulus ginjal tikus putih, Disimpulkan bahwa semakin besar dosis formalin yang diberikan maka semakin besar pengaruhnya terhadap kerusakan histopatologi ginjal tikus.Kata kunci: degenerasi, formalin, ginjal, nekrosis, Rattus norvegicusABSTRACT The study aims to determine the effect of formalin administration intraperitoneally on Rats (Rattus norvegicus) kidney. Animals used in this study were 24 male rats. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 unidirectional pattern group treatments. Each treatment group consisted of six rats. Group control was given only feed and drinking without any treatment, group 1, 2, and 3 were injected intraperitoneally with formalin with the dose of 1, 2.5, and 5 mg/kg bw, respectively. The treatment was carried out for 14 consecutive days. During the reseach, rats were fed comercial feed and given drinking water adlibitum. Rat were euthanized on day 15, then the kidney was collected for histopathological examination. The statistical analysis showed that the average (± SD) number of renal tubular cells in rat with degeneration of parenchyma were K0 (0.00 ± 0.00), K1 (2.10 ± 0.17), K2 (2.56± 0.32), and K3 (3.00 ±0.72) , degeneration hidropis were K0 (0.00 ± 0.00), K1 (1.80 ± 0.69), K2 (7.23 ± 0.60), and K3 (7.50 ± 0.26), and necrosis were K0 (0.06 ± 0.11), K1 (3.70 ± 0.43), K2 (7.23 ± 0.60), and K3 (7.50 ± 0.26). The administration in conelusion of formalin significantly affect the renal tubular cells damage in rat, the higher the dose of formalin injected, the higher the damage of histopathological of kidney rats.Keywords: degeneration, formalin, kidney, necrosis, Rattus norvegicus
