<![CDATA[The excessive use of chemical pesticides in agriculture has had a negative impact on the environment and human health. As an alternative to this problem, a botanical pesticide has been developed from papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya L.) because it contains bioactive compounds such as papain, saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins that are effective in controlling plant pests. This study aims to introduce the process of making and applying environmentally friendly botanical pesticides to the community, especially farmers in Simpang Petai Village, Kampar Regency, Riau. The manufacturing process is carried out by extracting papaya leaves using a soaking method with the addition of liquid detergent as an adhesive in a ratio of 1 tablespoon of detergent to 1 liter of water. Pesticide application is carried out through routine spraying on plants. The results of this activity indicate that botanical pesticides from papaya leaves can reduce dependence on chemical pesticides and contribute to reducing environmental pollution. This activity also supports the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially addressing climate change, and increasing public awareness of sustainable agricultural practices.]]>
