The study aims to determine the effect of PAK teachers’ pedagogical competence on the learning effectiveness of Grade VIII students at SMP Swasta HKBP Sipahutar in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The research hypothesis states that there is a positive and significant effect of PAK teachers’ pedagogical competence on the learning effectiveness of Grade VIII students at SMP Swasta HKBP Sipahutar in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This study employed a descriptive and inferential quantitative research method. The population consisted of all Grade VIII students at SMP Swasta HKBP Sipahutar in the 2024/2025 Academic Year who are Protestant Christians, totaling 183 students. The research sample was determined randomly (random sampling), amounting to 20% of the total number of students in each class, namely 35 students. The research instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire. The results of data analysis showed that the value of rcount = 0,595 > rtable = 0,334 and tcount = 4,253 > ttable = 2,03452, indicating a positive and significant relationship between PAK teachers’ pedagogical competence and students’ learning effectiveness. The regression equation was obtained. The coefficient of determination indicated that the magnitude of the influence was 35,40%, while 64,60% was influenced by other factors, namely study time, assignments given by teachers, learning motivation, learning evaluation, family environment, school environment, community environment, learning equipment, and learning facilities. The hypothesis testing showed that Fcount = 17,943 > Ftable = 3,32, therefore H0 (null hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted. The study concludes that there is a positive and significant effect of PAK teachers’ pedagogical competence on the learning effectiveness of Grade VIII students at SMP Swasta HKBP Sipahutar in the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
