This research examines how victims of natural disasters are represented in the online media coverage of Tribun Bengkulu. The aim of this study is to identify the representation of victims in news texts and explain the tendencies of the resulting meanings. The methods used are corpus-based quantitative and qualitative. The research data consists of 30 disaster news articles published in the period 2023–2025 with a total of 9,261 tokens. The analysis was conducted using AntConc software to trace word frequencies, collocations, and concordance patterns related to victims in the context of news coverage. The results of the study indicate that the words house, resident, victim, affected, and damage are central to the representations in the text. Reporting tends to emphasize physical losses, emergency conditions, and quantitative data collection on the impact of the disaster. Victims are depicted more through material and administrative dimensions than emotional experiences. This study concludes that media language plays a crucial role in constructively shaping public perceptions regarding the social status and conditions of post-disaster victims.
