ABSTRAK Kabupaten Gunungkidul merupakan wilayah dengan tingkat kerawanan gempa bumi tinggi, sehingga diperlukan peningkatan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat khususnya di lingkungan sekolah. Kegiatan edukasi tanggap darurat bencana gempa bumi di SMPN 1 Semin bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran siswa dalam menghadapi situasi darurat melalui pendekatan Project based learning. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, simulasi evakuasi, diskusi interaktif, dan praktik lapangan dengan pengukuran efektivitas melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata pemahaman siswa sebesar 80% serta perubahan sikap menjadi lebih tanggap, tenang, dan peduli terhadap keselamatan diri dan lingkungan sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan edukasi interaktif efektif dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan bencana di kalangan siswa. Disarankan agar kegiatan serupa dilaksanakan secara rutin dan diperluas ke sekolah lain di wilayah rawan gempa untuk memperkuat budaya sadar bencana sejak dini. ABSTRACT Gunungkidul District was known as an earthquake-prone area; therefore, it was essential to enhance community preparedness, especially in school environments. The earthquake emergency education program at SMPN 1 Semin aimed to improve students’ knowledge, skills, and awareness in responding to emergencies through the Project based learning approach. The methods included counseling, evacuation simulations, interactive discussions, and field practices, with effectiveness measured using pre- and post-tests. The results showed an average 80% increase in students’ understanding and significant behavioral improvements in alertness, calmness, and concern for safety. It was concluded that the interactive educational approach effectively enhanced disaster preparedness among students. It is recommended that similar programs be conducted regularly and expanded to other schools in disaster-prone areas to strengthen disaster awareness and resilience from an early age.
