One form of nursing service that determines the quality of the hospital is by conducting handovers using effective communication, namely SBAR communication, where in the implementation of SBAR the head of the room plays an important role in the success of its implementation. This study aims to analyze the Influence of the Role of the Head of the Room on the Effective Communication Ability of SBAR Nurses in Handovers in the Internal Room of Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Regional Hospital. The quantitative method with the research design used in the study is quantitative with correlational analytic with a cross-sectional design. This is a cross-sectional study, where the sample was selected through the total sampling method, with a sample of 35 nurse respondents in the Internal Room, then the sample in this study was all nurses in the Internal Room of Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Regional Hospital, Gorontalo City. Data analysis used the chi-square test (x2) with significance (<0.05). The results showed that there was an Influence of the Role of the Head of the Room on the Effective Communication Ability of SBAR Nurses in Handovers in the Internal Room of Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Regional Hospital with p. The value of 0.003 (≤0.05) suggests that the ward head needs to periodically evaluate the nurses' effective SBAR communication skills to improve the quality of nursing services in the Internal Medicine Unit.
