<![CDATA[The diversity of medicinal plants is an important biological resource that plays a role in providing natural bioactive sources and supporting the development of natural-based health products. The Semarang State University campus area, which has hilly ecological conditions, is thought to be a habitat for various species of medicinal plants, but scientific data on the types and distribution of these plants is still limited. This study aims to identify the diversity of medicinal plants found on campus and examine their potential for health benefits based on scientific literature. The research was conducted through field exploration by establishing twenty plots using a purposive sampling approach to record all plant species with medicinal potential. Each specimen found was identified based on morphological characteristics and then analysed using parameters of relative frequency, relative density, relative dominance, and species importance value to determine the community structure. The results showed that the campus area has a fairly high diversity of medicinal plants, dominated by the Asteraceae, Fabaceae, and Euphorbiaceae families, with several species such as Bidens pilosa, Asystasia gangetica, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Chromolaena odorata having the highest species importance values. Most of the species found have the potential to be sources of antioxidants, antimicrobials, anti-inflammatories, and antidiabetics based on their metabolite characteristics. This study concludes that the campus area is rich in medicinal plants and has great potential to be developed as a centre for conservation, herbal education, and a source of further research related to phytopharmaceuticals.]]>
