The thesis was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Akidah Akhlak in Grade VIII of Madrasah Tsanawiyah. The learning process, which was still teacher-centered, caused students to be less active, less confident in expressing their opinions, and less able to understand the material in depth. Therefore, an appropriate learning strategy was needed to increase student engagement and learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the improvement of learning outcomes in Akidah Akhlak through the implementation of the group discussion method for Grade VIII students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah.This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 15 students. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis to determine the improvement in students’ learning outcomes in each cycle.The results of the study indicated that the implementation of the group discussion method improved students’ learning outcomes. This was shown by the increase in the average scores and the percentage of learning mastery in each cycle. Students became more active in the learning process, more confident in expressing their opinions, and more capable of working collaboratively in groups. Therefore, the group discussion method proved to be effective in improving learning outcomes in Akidah Akhlak for Grade VIII students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah.
