<![CDATA[The development of science and technology increasingly encourage renewal efforts in the utilization of technology results in teaching and learning process. One of the technology that can be used in teaching and learning process is education media. Educational media used must be adapted to the development and demands of the times. The use of appropriate educational media in the learning process will facilitate the achievement of learning objectives. The purpose of this paper is to describe that educational media has been known and used in Islamic education system since the beginning of Islam. The discussion method used is descriptive method. The results of this research is that at the beginning of the spread of Islam has been known teaching and learning activities, when the educational media already exists and has been applied by the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. in teaching science and Islamic law to the companions. In addition, in the hadits there are several terms used to indicate the use of educational media in learning, such as pictures, pebbles and fingers. The conclusion of this paper is that the educational media will influence the absence of a complete and appropriate learning information target, and affect the outcome of the learning process undertaken.]]>
