This study aims to analyze the influence of mental health on the performance of soccer athletes, specifically the role of self-confidence and mental toughness in improving the quality of play. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research method that examined various scientific literature sources in the form of journals, books, and relevant articles. Data were collected through documentation techniques by searching, identifying, and reviewing references related to sports psychology and athlete performance. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that mental health plays a significant role in determining the performance of soccer athletes, where self-confidence is a primary factor influencing focus, consistency, and decision-making ability on the field. In addition, mental health and emotional control also contribute to maintaining the stability of athletes' performance under the pressure of matches. Therefore, strengthening mental health through structured mental training is an important aspect in supporting the improvement of soccer athletes' performance.
