This study aims to determine the implementation of active learning strategies in improving students’ activeness and understanding in Economics subject for class XI IPS at MAN 1 Merangin. The active learning strategy was applied by involving students directly in the learning process through discussions, presentations, case studies, and educational games related to economic topics. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during the Field Experience Practice (PPL). The results showed that the implementation of active learning strategies successfully increased students’ activeness in asking questions, expressing opinions, and collaborating in groups. Furthermore, students’ understanding of economic concepts improved, as reflected in their learning outcomes and classroom participation. Therefore, active learning strategies can be considered an effective approach to enhancing the quality of economics learning in schools.
