Good nutritional status is a crucial factor in supporting successful human resource development. To improve toddlers’ nutritional status, the government has implemented a supplementary feeding program (PMT) targeting children with nutritional problems. As part of this initiative, a local food-based PMT was conducted for 56 days, focusing on toddlers suffering from malnutrition (wasting) and low body weight (underweight). This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the local food-based PMT in improving the nutritional status of toddlers at the Pelabuhan Sambas Public Health Center in 2024. This evaluation research employed a mixed-methods approach. Data were collected through direct interviews and analyzed using descriptive univariate statistics to determine frequency distributions and percentages. The results indicated that the evaluation of input (facilities, funding, and human resources), process (preparation, implementation, and monitoring), and output (coverage, target accuracy, and timeliness) in the local food-based PMT was in accordance with the 2023 technical guidelines for providing supplementary feeding. Furthermore, there was a significant improvement in toddlers’ nutritional status, as reflected by increases in weight-for-age (W/A), weight-for-height (W/H), and weight-for-length (W/L) indices. In conclusion, the local food-based PMT was effectively implemented in accordance with the 2023 technical guidelines and significantly improved toddlers’ nutritional status. Enhancing program monitoring and encouraging greater community participation may further improve its outcomes.
