This research aimed to investigate the pattern of the communication network of Banyuwangi-origined Javanese ethnic migrants in Makassar and its influence on the attractiveness of both destination region and homeland.The research type was descriptive-eksplanative. The resource persons were selected purposefully and through the snowball method. The data were collected using the techniques of observation, in-depth interviews, and the questionnaires for the network analysis. The data were processed with the help of the UCINET software and then analyzed qualitatively. The research results revealed that the communication network of Banyuwangi-origined Javanese ethnic migrants in Makassar had no effect on the migrants’ decision to stay in Makassar or return to their homeland. The structure of the communication network of the migrants had a number of central personages spread as the opinion leaders. The network pattern was chain pattern, Y pattern, wheel pattern, and all channels pattern. The tendency of the migrants to keep on staying in Makassar city had almost the same proportion as the tendency to return to their homeland. It was also found that there had been a change in the mindset towards the success concept, i.e. Banyuwangi-origined Javanese migrants did not take back all their properties to their homeland but they choose to enjoy living in their foreign areas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pola jaringan komunikasi perantau etnis Jawa asal Banyuwangi dan pengaruhnya terhadap daya tarik daerah tujuan dan daerah asal. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif eksplanatif. Pemilihan narasumber dilakukan secara purposif dan metode bola salju. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan pengisian kuesioner untuk analisis jaringan. Data diolah secara kuantitatif dengan bantuan software UCINET dan dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jaringan komunikasi perantau etnis Jawa asal Banyuwangi di kota Makassar tidak berpengaruh terhadap keputusan perantau untuk tetap bertahan di kota Makassar atau kembali ke daerah asal. Struktur jaringan komunikasi perantau memiliki beberapa tokoh sentral yang menyebar sebagai opinion leader. Pola jaringan yang ditemukan adalah pola rantai, pola Y, pola roda dan pola semua saluran. Kecenderungan perantau untuk tetap bertahan di kota Makassar memiliki proporsi yang hampir sama dengan kecenderungan untuk kembali ke daerah asal. Ditemukan perubahan mindset terhadap konsep kesuksesan, yaitu perantau etnis Jawa asal Banyuwangi tidak lagi membawa seluruh hasil kekayaannya ke daerah asal dan menikmati hidup di perantauan.
