Fishermen in Juwana generally use secondhand engines that have been in operation for decades, resulting in low engine efficiency and poor technical condition. Some engines have suffered permanent damage, such as worn cylinder liners, seized pistons and rings, and damaged fuel pumps. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of fishermen in Juwana, Pati, in maintaining traditional fishing boat engines. The activity was conducted in person on December 18–19, 2025, with 15 participants, including traditional fishermen, traditional boat owners, and local government representatives. The training methods included lectures, discussions/Q&A, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Based on the questionnaire results, prior to the training, only 30% of participants possessed basic knowledge, whereas after the training, this figure increased to 85%. Hands-on practice demonstrated that 80% of participants could perform engine maintenance properly. Post-test evaluations showed significant improvement: 94.3% of participants were able to explain the schedule and procedures for engine oil changes, 88.6% successfully cleaned and reinstalled fuel filters correctly, 100% were able to flush the cooling system and check for water leaks, and 85.7% could identify early signs of engine damage.
