<![CDATA[Maize (Zea mays L.) is a strategic commodity that plays a vital role in supporting national food security and the animal feed industry in Indonesia. To boost production and reduce dependence on imports, the Indonesian government has launched an accelerated maize planting program across key production regions. This study aims to analyze the impact of the accelerated maize planting policy on Indonesia’s export opportunities to South Korea. The research employs a descriptive-qualitative method, utilizing literature review and policy analysis based on secondary data. The findings indicate that while the acceleration program has significantly increased national maize production, it has not yet directly translated into higher export volumes to South Korea. This is primarily due to post-harvest quality issues, logistical infrastructure constraints, market access disparities, and unmet technical and sustainability standards required by the destination country. Therefore, Indonesia’s maize export strategy should focus on integrating upstream production enhancement with downstream export system strengthening. This includes modernizing post-harvest handling, improving quality certification, empowering export-oriented cooperatives, and advancing bilateral trade diplomacy. This study contributes to the discourse on export policy grounded in domestic production and offers practical recommendations for policymakers to reinforce sustainable agricultural exports.]]>
