Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a public health problem in Indonesia and has the potential to cause an Extraordinary Event (KLB) if not accompanied by appropriate mitigation efforts. The school environment is one of the locations at high risk for DHF transmission due to high student activity and environmental conditions that support the breeding of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This Community Service Activity aims to determine the effectiveness of DHF Outbreak mitigation education on the knowledge of students of SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru. This service uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-experimental pretest-posttest design. The sample of the service was 34 grade X students. Knowledge measurement was carried out through a pretest before education and a posttest after education on DHF Outbreak mitigation based on the 3M Plus Movement. The results of this community service activity show that the percentage of students with good knowledge category in the pretest was 26.47%, increasing to 67.65% in the posttest. The average knowledge score increased from 9.21 ± 1.38 to 11.03 ± 0.94. The results of the paired t-test showed a p value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between students' knowledge before and after education. Dengue Fever Outbreak mitigation education has been proven effective in increasing students' knowledge and needs to be carried out continuously as an effort to prevent dengue fever outbreaks in the school environment
