The government’s program to improve the quality of maternal health services involves the implementation of prenatal classes. A key priority for partners is that complications during pregnancy and childbirth which can be prevented by enhancing pregnant women’s knowledge and skills in self-care during pregnancy and the postpartum period still occur. The Sarulla Community Health Center, which serves 12 villages and 1 sub-district, currently operates only two prenatal class groups (KIH). Prenatal classes are combined with prenatal check-ups (Ante Natal Care/ANC). The KIH program is not permanently based in a single village or subdistrict; its location is determined by the number of pregnant women in that area. Participation by pregnant women in the KIH program is low due to the lengthy duration of the sessions and the considerable distance to the KIH location. The target participants for this community service activity are 34 pregnant women, and it is conducted in the hall of the Sarulla Community Health Center. The objective is to enhance knowledge and self-care skills during pregnancy and the postpartum period through the implementation of prenatal classes. The educational methods focus on the importance of attending prenatal classes, the ability to perform self-monitoring for early detection, and self-care practices during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The results achieved showed that the mothers’ knowledge increased from a majority with insufficient knowledge (13 people, 38.23%) to 28 people (82.35%). The mothers’ motivation to attend prenatal classes increased from 9 people (26.47%) with strong motivation to 22 people (64.7%).
