This study aims to analyze the implementation mechanisms, various technologicalmedia, barriers, and clinical effectiveness of online counseling services. Using theSystematic Literature Review (SLR) method, 12 selected articles from GoogleScholar and Semantic Scholar databases within the 2016–2026 period wereanalyzed in depth. The results show that online counseling is implemented throughthree main stages: preparation, intervention, and evaluation/post-counseling. Themedia used varies from video conferencing (synchronous) to text messaging and AIchatbots (asynchronous). Although effective in reducing levels of anxiety, depression, and academic stress, this service still faces technical barriers such asunstable internet connections and challenges in building therapeutic allianceswithout non-verbal cues. The conclusion of this study confirms that onlinecounseling is an effective strategic alternative, but strengthening the legalframework and increasing digital literacy for counselors are necessary for serviceoptimization. Keywords: Effectiveness, Online Counseling, Systematic Literature Review
