This research aims to provide knowledge to the community regarding the importance of marriage registration in state administration. The method used by the researcher is the empirical juridical method, which is located in Sukatani District, Bekasi Regency. The community often states that marriage does not need to be registered because in the past, there was no marriage registration, whereas if traced, unregistered marriages will result in legal consequences that are detrimental to the parties involved in the marriage, especially the wife and children. Marriage registration is often considered one of the troublesome matters because it requires submitting time-consuming documents. In Article 2 paragraph 2 of Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Law Number 1 of 1974 on Marriage, it is clearly stated that every marriage must be registered in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, as well as in the Compilation of Islamic Law, thus making marriage registration an obligation as the basis for creating welfare and legal certainty
