Immunization is one of the most effective efforts to prevent infectious diseases in children. However, public awareness regarding the importance of complete basic immunization is still relatively low due to lack of knowledge and misinformation about vaccine side effects. This community service activity aimed to increase public knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of immunization for children’s health. The activity was carried out in Patumbak I Village Dusun III, Deli Serdang Regency, involving 20 mothers with infants and toddlers as participants. The method used was health education through counseling, discussion, question and answer sessions, and distribution of educational leaflets. The educational material included the definition of immunization, benefits of immunization, immunization schedules, and the impact of incomplete immunization. Evaluation was conducted through direct questioning and observation of participant participation during the activity. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of immunization after receiving health education. Participants became more aware of the benefits of vaccines in preventing infectious diseases and understood that post-immunization side effects are generally mild and temporary. Participants also demonstrated positive attitudes toward the immunization program and expressed willingness to complete their children’s immunization schedules. The use of educational media such as leaflets and posters helped participants understand the material more easily. This community service activity had a positive impact on increasing public awareness and participation in supporting child immunization programs. Continuous health education is needed to improve immunization coverage and realize healthier children in the community.
