This research has an objective uncover hor child intention in developing literacy skill in reading park Jambi City. Children literacy has some issues like environment that is unsufficient, lack of understanding from parent and community, including motivation and interest that still lacking, In addition, their basic literacy skills are still lacking, such as difficulties in reading and understanding words and sentences. Therefore, it requires reseacrh on intention of children that for solving the issues happened in Jambi through reading park in Kota Jambi. This research use qualitative methods with phenomenological approach. Reasecrh participant are children that follow reading park activily in reading park. Reading parks that take part in this research are Rumah Baca Jakose, Taman Baca Dayung Habibah, and Sahabat Ilmu Jambi. Analysis method use interpretative phenomenological analysis. Results of resecarh reveal children intention such as reading desire, interest on life skill, fun learning media, supportive friend and volunteer, increase knowledge, stimulus giving, modeling, parent support, and enhance self confidence.
