Abstract

Vocational high school students often experience stress and anxiety, which impacts their academic and personal well being. This community service program aims to equip students with mindfulness based strategies to manage stress and anxiety through the practice of Gayatri Mantram. This activity uses a structured intervention method that includes a preparation stage, a pretest, an educational session, guided mindfulness practice, a posttest, and a sustainability evaluation. The program involved 40 final year students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively to evaluate changes in stress and anxiety levels before and after the intervention. The postintervention evaluation results showed significant emotional release and a decrease in stress and anxiety levels. These findings confirm the effectiveness of Gayatri Mantram based mindfulness in improving students' emotional resilience. This program underscores the importance of integrating mindfulness practices into school mental health programs as a sustainable approach to stress management. Future programs are recommended to explore long term implementation strategies to improve student well being. In conclusion, empowering vocational high school students through Gayatri Mantram based mindfulness practices effectively helps them manage stress and anxiety, and improves psychological well being in the face of academic and daily life pressures.
