Islamic Boarding Schools have an important role in the formation of personal leadership of students and produce graduates of students as people who are faithful, pious, noble and honest to become a person of a just and wise leader who understands religion and follows the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role of Islamic Boarding Schools in Forming Personal Leadership of students and to find out the inhibiting factors and driving factors in the formation of personal leadership of students. This study is a qualitative study that uses several objects, namely: ustdz and uztadzh, leaders of Islamic Boarding Schools, Teachers and students, data collection is done by conducting observations, documentation, interviews. This is based on the consideration that the method is effective and easy to implement. The results of the study show that the role of Islamic Boarding Schools in forming personal leadership is good through activities carried out by the assatidz and ustatazah, but in these activities there are inhibiting factors and driving factors in the formation of personal leadership of students in Islamic Boarding Schools.
