Political practices in Indonesia still tend to be oriented toward the struggle for power, which in many cases is not aligned with the normative principles of Islamic teachings. Therefore, it is important to provide Muslim politicians with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic politics as a means of da'wah, oriented toward the realization of a state order that is in accordance with Islamic law. Therefore, this research will attempt to examine in depth the political thoughts and practices of M. Natsir. This research uses a qualitative research method with a library research approach and a historical approach. The results of this study indicate that the thought and political practice of M. Natsir constitute Islamic politics, which include: first, politics as a means to realize the principle of *amar ma’ruf nahi munkar* in social and state life. Second, political activity must always be grounded in Islamic values such as honesty, justice, responsibility, and the courage to uphold the truth. Third, a Muslim’s political activity should be positioned as part of da'wah, namely a systematic effort to bring Islamic values into public life.
