<![CDATA[The Community Service Program titled “Health Education onDegenerative Diseases and Health Screenings for Residents of RW 02and RW 15 in Jayaraga Village, Tarogong Kidul Subdistrict, GarutRegency” aims to increase public awareness of degenerative diseasesand promote early detection through health screenings. This initiativewas prompted by the rising prevalence of noncommunicablediseases—such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, andstroke—which negatively impact the community’s quality of life. Theprogram included educational sessions on the definition, types, riskfactors, prevention, and initial management of degenerative diseases,along with blood pressure checks, random blood glucose tests, andguidance on healthy lifestyles. The activity involved faculty membersand students as part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of HigherEducation. The results showed high levels of community participationand enthusiasm in attending the educational sessions and healthscreenings. The community gained a better understanding of riskfactors, prevention methods, and the importance of regular healthcheckups, as well as insight into their health status based on screeningresults. This program is expected to raise public awareness regardingthe prevention of degenerative diseases and serve as a sustainablepromotive and preventive effort to support improvements in publichealth.]]>
