Technological Learning Media Innovation (Worldwall Website) to Enhance Cognitive Development in Early Childhood

Abstract

In the current era of rapid digital technological advancement, the integration of technology-based media into education has become an inevitable necessity. Equally, the cognitive development of early childhood must be prioritized from the earliest stages, as it constitutes a fundamental component that every individual requires. Consequently, initiatives to foster cognitive development in early childhood are of paramount importance. This study seeks to optimize the utilization of technology-based media within educational institutions while simultaneously addressing the enhancement of students’ cognitive abilities. Specifically, the research investigates the application of technology-based media (Wordwall website) as an innovative learning tool to improve the cognitive development of early childhood learners in group A of TK Dharma Wanita Gondanglor. Employing a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, the study involved 20 children selected through nonprobability sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with SPSS 23. The findings revealed an increase from a pretest score of 169 to a posttest score of 282. Based on the Wilcoxon test with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, the hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, indicating that the use of technology-based media (Wordwall website) is effective as an innovative learning approach to enhance the cognitive development of early childhood learners in group A at TK Dharma Wanita Gondanglor, Sugio, Lamongan.
