Bangkurung Island is a remote area in Southeast Sulawesi that is electrified for 8 hours per day by a dieselgenerator with a supply capacity of 850 kW and a peak load of 466 kW. This study aims to analyzeelectricity generation by utilizing local renewable energy-based hybrid plants that can meet demand for 24hours per day. For this reason, 5 alternative Planning design schemes are proposed: first 100% PLTDcomposition, second PLTD+PV+Li-ION, third PLTD+WT+Li-ION, fourth PLTD+PV+WT+Li-ION, andfifth PV+WT+Li-ION. Based on the simulation results of the HOMER application for the five schemesabove, multi criteria decision making is carried out to determine the best alternative scheme based onseveral criteria using the TOPSIS (Technique of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method, theresults obtained in the fourth scheme with the highest value and has a Cost of energy (COE) value of US $0.105 / kWh. Although the results of the financial feasibility analysis study which includes Net PresentValue (NPV), Profitability Index (PI), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) are not feasible. Based on theeconomic analysis of the best hybrid scheme, the usual fuel savings of US$ 597,239.21 / year and theenvironmental aspects of reducing CO2 emissions by 1.99 tons / year and reducing waste treatment effortsfrom diesel power plants.
