Potato (Solanum tuberosum) is an important horticultural commodity in Indonesia, yet its production is often disrupted by plant-parasitic nematodes, particularly potato cyst nematodes (PCN) belonging to the genus Globodera. This study aimed to determine the population, damage intensity, and distribution pattern of PCN in potato cultivation areas in two sub-districts of Bandung Regency, West Java. Soil and root samples were collected from eight villages in Kertasari and Pangalengan sub-districts, followed by nematode extraction at the Laboratory of Plant Pest Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The research was conducted from October 2024 to February 2025. The results showed that Globodera populations were significantly different among villages. The highest PCN population on the root was recorded in Santosa Village, which was 97.2 individuals per gram of root, while the highest PCN population in the soil occurred in Kertamanah Village, which was 232.4 individuals per 100 cc of soil. The damage intensity caused by PCN was classified as very high across all surveyed villages. Based on Iwao regression, the spatial distribution pattern of PCN was random in the study site. The findings indicate that Globodera infestation poses a serious threat to potato production in Bandung, necessitating effective management efforts to minimize potato crop losses.
