Social intercourse between European Christians and the Tamils was not easy yet, the converts dared to become Christians and associate themselves with the "foreigners." They have applied the passive approach of dialogue with other religious people regarding their beliefs and faith. Ziegenbalg corresponded with several scholars and practitioners of Tamil bhakti religions.
