KONSUMSI DAN EFISIENSI PROTEIN RANSUM BERBASIS SUSU BUBUK AFKIR DAN TEMULAWAK PADA KELINCI LOKAL

Abstract

Keterbatasan ketersediaan dan tingginya harga pakan komersial menjadi kendala utama dalam usaha budidaya kelinci lepas sapi. Pemanfaatan susu bubuk afkir sebagai sumber nutrisi alternatif terhambat oleh kandungan laktosa yang dapat memicu diare. Suplementasi tepung temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) berpotensi memitigasi kendala tersebut melalui aktivitas zat aktif kurkuminoid sebagai stimulan pencernaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat konsumsi ransum dan efisiensi pemanfaatan protein pada kelinci lepas sapih yang diberi pakan berbasis susu bubuk afkir dengan suplementasi tepung temulawak. Penelitian eksperimental ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan menggunakan 18 ekor kelinci New Zealand White usia 8 minggu. Perlakuan yang diuji terdiri atas tingkat substitusi susu bubuk afkir yang mengandung temulawak yaitu P0 (0%), P1 (5%), dan P2 (10%). Peubah yang diamati mencakup konsumsi ransum harian dan efisiensi protein ransum. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Wilayah Berganda Duncan. Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi ransum, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap efisiensi protein ransum. Rataan konsumsi ransum tertinggi dicapai oleh perlakuan P2 (96,10±12,66 g/ekor/hari) yang berbeda nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan P1 (76,70±7,84 g/ekor/hari) dan P0 (73,50±13,43 g/ekor/hari). Nilai efisiensi protein ransum bergerak seragam secara statistik pada kisaran 0,97 hingga 1,10. Kombinasi susu bubuk afkir dan tepung temulawak dalam ransum efektif meningkatkan palatabilitas dan volume konsumsi pakan tanpa menurunkan efisiensi pemanfaatan protein internal kelinci, dengan tingkat penggunaan paling optimal secara numerik sebesar 5%. ABSTRACT Limited availability and high commercial feed prices are primary constraints in weaning rabbit production. Utilizing rejected milk powder as an alternative nutritional source is limited by its lactose content, which potentially triggers diarrhea. Dietary supplementation of temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) can mitigate this issue through the digestive stimulant activity of curcuminoid compounds. This study aimed to evaluate feed consumption and protein efficiency of weaning rabbits fed rejected milk powder-based rations supplemented with temulawak powder. This experimental study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications, utilizing 18 eight-week-old New Zealand White rabbits. The tested treatments included substitution levels of rejected milk powder containing temulawak: P0 (0%), P1 (5%), and P2 (10%). Observed parameters included daily feed consumption and ration protein efficiency. Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The analysis of variance showed that the treatments significantly affected (P<0.01) feed consumption but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on ration protein efficiency. The highest average feed consumption was achieved by the P2 treatment (96.10±12.66 g/head/day), which was significantly higher than P1 (76.70±7.84 g/head/day) and P0 (73.50±13.43 g/head/day). The ration protein efficiency values remained statistically uniform, ranging from 0.97 to 1.10. The combination of rejected milk powder and temulawak powder in the ration effectively increases palatability and feed intake without reducing the internal protein efficiency of rabbits, with the numerically most optimal level being 5%.
