Abstract

parents. His arrival in Wajo was motivated by the numerous accounts he heard from pilgrims originating from Wajo, which described the religious life of the community as deeply concerning, marked by widespread immoral behavior and polytheistic practices. Therefore, this study aims to examine the extent to which his da‘wah movement was able to bring about significant changes in the religious life of the people of Wajo. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through direct observation, interviews, as well as literature and document analysis. The findings indicate that the da‘wah movement of AGH. Muhammad As’ad took three forms: oral, written, and practical actions. The factors supporting the success of his da‘wah include his ability to observe the social environment, adapt to the community, and conduct systematic guidance and teaching. The conclusion of this study reveals that the success of AGH. Muhammad As’ad’s da‘wah movement in Wajo Regency was inseparable from his skill in understanding the context of da‘wah and his ability to effectively present religious messages, enabling them to be well received by the community. The implication of this study is that a da‘i must be capable of adapting to the environment, as well as adjusting the content and methods of da‘wah, particularly in the current era of rapid development in communication and information technology.
