Abstract

Batu bara (coal) adalah suatu zat padat yang terdiri dari zat organik (carboneous material), air (moisture) dan mineral. (1, 2)Jenis batu bara cukup banyak, di antaranya Peat, Lignite, coal dan anthracite. Klassifikasi batu bara ini disusun berdasarkan beberapa faktor di antaranya derajat metamosfose, nilai bakar, kadar karbon, kadar zat terbang, volatile matter.
