<![CDATA[This study formulates a coherent model of Islamic environmental ethics through an integrated engagement with Qur’anic teachings and the ethical and cosmological framework of contemporary Sufism. Previous studies tend to approach Islamic environmental ethics either from a legal formal perspective grounded in fiqh or from a spiritual perspective rooted in Sufism. However, only a limited number of works systematically combine these two approaches into a unified framework. To address this gap, this research employs a qualitative constructive method with a philosophical design. It applies thematic Qur’anic analysis (tafsīr mawḍūʿī) alongside conceptual and hermeneutical analysis of Sufi thought, which are then integrated through triangulation. The findings present a triangulation based model grounded in three main pillars, namely textual authority (naṣṣ), spirituality (rūḥāniyyah), and practical reason (‘aql ‘amalī). This model formulates six interrelated ethical principles consisting of unity and sacredness, balance and justice, responsibility as trusteeship (amānah), simplicity and sufficiency, prohibition of destruction, and contemplation and compassion. By connecting key Qur’anic concepts such as khilāfah, mīzān, and the prohibition of ifsād with major Sufi doctrines including waḥdat al wujūd, zuhd, and raḥmah, the model offers a more comprehensive ethical framework. This study contributes by bridging the divide between legal and spiritual approaches in Islamic thought and by proposing an operational model for environmental ethics. It argues that the contemporary ecological crisis is not solely technical but also moral and spiritual, thus requiring a reorientation of human consciousness toward a more sacred and compassionate relationship with the natural world.]]>
