<![CDATA[This study examines the dynamics of Islam in its contribution to the traditional timbo ka sunge ceremony in Koto Majidin Village, Kerinci Regency. The timbo ka sunge ceremony is a hereditary tradition that has been preserved across generations, involving the first occasion when a baby is taken outside the house after the umbilical cord has fallen off (lucaungk). This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Islam in its contribution to the timbo ka sunge traditional ceremony in Koto Majidin Village, Kerinci Regency. This research employs a qualitative method with a cultural-historical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with religious leaders, traditional leaders, village shamans, and local community members, and were supported by documentation and literature studies. The results show that the timbo ka sunge ceremony is a hereditary tradition consisting of preparation, bathing the baby, prayers, and a thanksgiving feast, carrying both social and religious meanings as an expression of gratitude and hopes for safety. The dynamics of Islam are reflected in adjustments such as the use of prayers, changes in location, and alignment with the values of tawhid. This tradition reflects a harmonious acculturation between local culture and Islamic teachings.]]>
